My name is Scott Marlowe and I'm the guy running the show here.
I'm a software guy who got his start in computers playing games on one of the old Pong consoles (don't ask me which, I'm really not sure). Things gravitated from there; I eventually left the games behind (ok, maybe not completely) and so far have had a pretty good, ongoing career in the software industry. I've worked for consulting firms as well as ones developing end-user products. I was in telecom for a number of years (former Worldcom'er), also. Now, I work for a large corporation that does tax software (no, not Intuit). While I grew up and went to school in California, I have lived in Texas for just over ten years now.
Topics on this blog will likely include BlogEngine.NET (on which this blog and my other one run), Silverlight, AJAX, ASP.NET, continuous integration, CruiseControl.NET, ASP.NET MVC, and more. Expect to see posts on development tools, troubleshooting, and some on processes and procedures and why they're important.
I'm not above giving credit where credit is due: there's a ton of good information already out there. If I chance upon some of it while blogging then expect to see all sources listed. Hopefully I can bring something unique to the table, though, else I might just delete that post.
Some more about me... I'm a process guy. I like documentation, too. Continuous integration is a big one in my mind. Building, testing, integrating all should be repeatable, automated functions. Human intervention (note that I didn't say "interaction") should be kept to a minimum if it needs to exist at all. Don't expect to see too many posts of a personal nature (other than this one). I believe in content, and staying on topic. Most of all, giving people what they want and not wasting their (or my) time.
Now, on to some content…
