About this site
What is itscodingtime?
itscodingtime is a blog about programming and other subjects of a technical nature.
Who runs it?
I do. I'm Scott Marlowe, a lead software guy for a big company that develops corporate tax software. While that might not sound terribly exciting on the surface, as a lead I get to work on some pretty cool stuff: ASP.NET 3.5, LINQ, Silverlight, AJAX, WCF, WPF.
Why itscodingtime?
I play with a number of different technologies and needed a sounding board for some of those projects. Also, when I come across a problem and solution for something, that pairing oftentimes gets lost and forgotten until such time as I run into the problem again. Of course, by then, I no longer have the solution and so the process begins anew. By making some of these trials public through itscodingtime, hopefully I can retain some of that knowledge and maybe lend a helping hand to someone else in the process.

Any inspiration for this blog?
Yes! I'm a bit of a latecomer to the technical blogging scene. At one point, I didn't get it. Same goes for podcasts. But over the past year I've developed a new appreciation for the knowledge sharing and collaboration that blogs and podcasts facilitate. Bloggers such as Scott Hanselman, Jeff Atwood, and others have set a standard I would like to emulate, if not follow (though perhaps on a smaller scale).
